August 2nd - Sunday

Family and friends,

Yesterday was a good day for Fran - the doctor came in and said the surgery went very well.
Dr. Kim was impressed by Fran's core strength...the doctor thought Fran must be doing hundreds of sit-ups each day! Doctor Kim said to Fran ... "you are in great shape" we got a BIG SMILE from Fran! I guess the golf has paid off.

Several big milestones that nurses and doctors look for have happened - Fran was up and walking within 12 hours of his surgery and was able to eat a few things.

Fran was touched by all the comments and calls... it means so much to him. Each of you special and meaningful in his life - he thanks you all.

Good morning,
The surgery went very well last night - The doctor was able to do laparoscopic surgery which was wonderful news and will be huge in the recovery process for Fran. The tumor was removed and sent to the lab for testing, it will be 5-6 days before any results are back.

Fran was resting comfortably last night - I'll update later today when I have spoken to the doctor.

July 31st - Day of Surgery

First, there are no words that can express the deep appreciation and outpouring of love, prayers, cards, emails and words of encouragement that have come our way. Fran has been touched by the number of people who have reached out to him over the past few weeks.

Fran is ready for the surgery today and remains very positive and upbeat! As he prepared yesterday at an appointment with the surgeon, he had the nurses guessing and laughing with his "Nurse trivia" and... he found several new "promotional product opportunities". Surprized!

I will keep you all updated in the coming days on the surgery and Fran's recovery.
